Deflecting another blow, Ran spun his body away from the attack and back towards the guard. He got a solid kick at the man’s ribs, but as he spun back round, Randal took another vicious blow from his enemy’s baton, this one directed at his kidneys.

The two squared off, facing each other. Clearly the guard’s side hurt, but with Ran’s useless left arm and shot to the kidney, he was losing. The man’s reflexes were good; style and grace would not win this for Randal. Shear brute force was the answer.

Having little other choice, Randal charged the guard.
