“Revel paid us,” Turtle said, “to take out three of Giresun’s depots that had taken over local routes and had been charging a premium for safe passage. You either pay the toll or travel a few hundred extra miles. Revel has already set up his own stations, returning much of the control to the locals. What could he possibly hope to gain by revealing to Giresun that he was behind this destruction?” Then realization hit Turtle. “He just bought his way into Giresun’s company. He steps in, taking over these passage routes after we knock Giresun out of these areas.”
