There were no immediate sensors, she could tell by the breeze in the air, the feel of the ground beneath her feet. She just knew. But if she spooked the buck, he may trigger something that lead to suspicions. Perhaps it would be seen as nothing, a deer sprinting through the woods. But if the patterns of the deer, or even more dangerously, the patterns of this specific deer, were known, then a spooked deer may lead to real suspicions. Suspicions she couldn’t have just yet.

She walked up silently. The deer continued to drink from the ice cold water.
