Helen spun, looking at Sprite, then Helen turned toward the sky where the petite female still stared. An enormous fireball was flying at them. Helen jumped to one side, tumbling and rolling across the blacktop.
Sprite leaned back and to the side, eyes still on the speck growing closer, guns still in her hands at her side. The fireball soared past Sprite, a wave of afterglow heat uncomfortably warming Sprite’s face. The fireball exploded into the pavement ten feet away, leaving a five foot crater. Sprite blinked several times, ignoring the heat, not wanting to lose site of the 170.
